Former Senator Olympia Snowe was in Tucson

It was a beautiful sunny afternoon to have lunch and discussion with Olympia Snowe, National Institute for Civil Discourse (NICD) Board Member and former Senator of Maine. We learned “For change to occur, our leaders must understand that there is strength in compromise, courage in conciliation, and honor in consensus building.”

The National Institute for Civil Discourse Mission: Integrate research and practice to support and enable:

A congress and executive branch capable of working to solve the big issues facing our country;

A public demand for civil discourse and a government that works in the best interests of the country as a whole; and

Media that informs and engages citizens.
